Do you want to get away from it all, lost in the middle of the pacific ocean? With its natural turquoise shades, the Lagoon of Rangiroa is full of activities!
The atoll of Rangiroa is absolutely known for its activities related to scuba diving, but above all it is an immense maritime space which is surrounded by small islets that we call motu here in Polynesia. These little motus that you can see on the map to your right (the islets surrounding the Rangiroa lagoon) allows for some of the most popular excursions in the Tuamotu Archipelago. Rangiroa being the largest atoll in French Polynesia.
Many providers will offer you day trips to a motu, with an exceptional Tahitian picnic. The Blue Lagoon and the Reef Island are the most visited places but there are other equally remarkable destinations such as the Pink Sands, the village of Otepipi or the Motu Paio (bird motu) which will be reserved for lovers of endangered species.
To plan your day of excursion: the sun and the reverberation will be omnipresent during your trip by boat which can last more than an hour. It is therefore strongly recommended that you equip yourself with a good sunscreen and a suitable hat. The midday meal is frequently offered with a menu of local products and freshly caught fish, leaving you plenty of time for a swim, an encounter with stingrays or black tip sharks, inoffensive, or even an apprenticeship. The braiding of "niau", leaves of the coconut palm, for an artisanal hat. Do not forget to take pictures you will not regret your memories!
For those who want a shorter excursion, the visit of the aquarium by glass-bottom boat or water hike, the course of the aquatic path towards the Tiputa Pass or the descent of Tiputa Pass with the current will allow you to live unforgettable moments.
